White Christmas

As we continue to look at the “songs of the season”, the holidays would not be complete without hearing “White Christmas“.  We talked about “Blue Christmas” last week, so felt it only fair we discuss having a “white” one this week.  And, if the weather stays the way it has been, we could very well have a “white” Christmas.  Think I should press my luck and try for another color next week —  naah! :)

What is there about having a white Christmas that is so special?  Why do we associate snow and Christmas together?  After all, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in a country that doesn’t get much snow.  Is it because the stories of Santa with his reindeer, coming from the North Pole, has created an image we want to see fulfilled?  Does the snow create a warm, cozy feeling inside even though it’s cold outside?  And, what about those holiday travelers?  When it snows, and flight plans are delayed or interstates become snowy and treacherous, are they going to have a Merry Christmas?  I tried to research where this tradition began of wanting snow on Christmas day, but haven’t been too successful yet.  If you have any info or thoughts regarding this, please “click on” the comment link below —- Thanks!

I remember reading recently on twitter that Luci likes Bing Crosby, so, here’s to you, Luci.  Click on the link below and watch Bing bring that song to life:
