Ruined for Lesser Things
I wanted to get on here and post a short blog to build anticipation for next week’s Hillside service. I was spending some time with the Lord this morning, reading a book I recently purchased called “Deep unto Deep” (by the way if you haven’t read this book, I strongly recommend it). Dana Candler, the author of the book, made a statement that stuck out to me. She said, “God has ruined me for lesser pleasures than Himself”. After reading this statement, I stopped reading immediately and set the book down beside me. I just sat there in silence for a moment, letting the depth of that statement sink in. I began to whisper, “God, ruin me for lesser pleasures than Yourself. Never let me be satisfied with the pleasures of this life!” This coming Thursday night, I will be speaking on this subject. We must learn to be satisfied in God and ruined for anything lesser. I will hopefully post a video Wednesday night giving a little more insight, but I hope all of you can make it — Cya Thursday at 7pm for Hillside.
